Yes, Minister

Meg Hillier, the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Identity, the "Minister for ID Cards", came along to the EEMA / Digital Identity Forum seminar sponsored by Consult Hyperion at the British Computer Society and very kindly stayed on for a half-hour question and answer session after her talk about the UK's national identity card scheme.

Consult Hyperion sponsored the Financial Sector Technology magazine dinner for this month. The dinner, which was chaired by Paul Smee from the Payments Council, was an opportunity to share a range of views about the world of payments and exchange ideas about trends in the European payments market.

Patently obvious that biometrics will be important

He will presenting in the session on the topic "Biometrics: Privacy and Identity Theft" on the second day of the conference, on 29 April.

Just a quick reminder that the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Identity, Meg Hillier M.P., will be one of the speakers at the Digital Identity Forum's joint seminar with EEMA to be held at the British Computer Society in London on January 29th. This seminar, sponsored by Consult Hyperion, will be looking at the business opportunities that might arise from the introduction of the UK national identity card.
