Richard Thomas, Information Commissioner to give IDP keynote

The outgoing Information Commissioner, Richard Thomas, will be giving the closing keynote on the first day of the Identity and Privacy Forum (IDP) sponsored by Consult Hyperion and the Electronic Privacy Group in London on 14th-15th May 2009.

Getting to grips with mobile electronic ID

Dave Birch from Consult Hyperion will be taking part in the "Getting to grips with mobile electronic ID" panel session at the EEMA eID Interoperability seminar in Brussels on 17th March 2009. You can register for the seminar at the EEMA web site.

Yes, Minister

Meg Hillier, the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Identity, the "Minister for ID Cards", came along to the EEMA / Digital Identity Forum seminar sponsored by Consult Hyperion at the British Computer Society and very kindly stayed on for a half-hour question and answer session after her talk about the UK's national identity card scheme.

Social and banking

Consult Hyperion sponsored the Financial Sector Technology magazine dinner for this month. The dinner, which was chaired by Paul Smee from the Payments Council, was an opportunity to share a range of views about the world of payments and exchange ideas about trends in the European payments market.

Patently obvious that biometrics will be important

Dave Birch of Consult Hyperion will be talking about the use of biometrics to deal with the practical issues around personal data at the European Patent Forum 2009 in Prague from 28th-30th April 2009. He will presenting in the session on the topic "Biometrics: Privacy and Identity Theft" on the second day of the conference, on 29 April.

First fellowship round table next week

David Birch of Consult Hyperion will be chairing the first of the Visa Europe round tables on Innovation in Payments at the Centre for the Study of Financial Innovation in London next week.

Meg Hillier M.P. to speak at ID cards seminar

Just a quick reminder that the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Identity, Meg Hillier M.P., will be one of the speakers at the Digital Identity Forum's joint seminar with EEMA to be held at the British Computer Society in London on January 29th. This seminar, sponsored by Consult Hyperion, will be looking at the business opportunities that might arise from the introduction of the UK national identity card. CHYPpings Winter 2008

The Winter 2008 issue of CHYPpings, our company newsletter, is now available for downloading. It features a customer case study with the UK government's Technology Strategy Board, the announcement of the next Digital Money Forum and a report on Gloria Benson's cycle trip through Vietnam for charity.
