Dave Birch of Consult Hyperion will be talking about the use of biometrics to deal with the practical issues around personal data at the European Patent Forum 2009 in Prague from 28th-30th April 2009. He will presenting in the session on the topic "Biometrics: Privacy and Identity Theft" on the second day of the conference, on 29 April.
It may seem simple to solve the problem of personal data by protecting it using biometrics. But is it? Using biometrics can leading to the destruction of privacy or it can create privacy depending on the architecture chosen: in order to choose the right architecture, individuals and organisations need to be able to make informed choices about identity and privacy.
