The concert was sold-out within days of being announced and raised over £55,000 through the 1,200 ticket sales, merchandise on the night and sponsorship and was hugely successful and entertaining. Speaking after the concert Sam Molnar, an old Friend of Paul’s said:
“We are delighted that we managed to organise such a fantastic event, which made a lot of people (not just Weller fans) very happy. Our thanks go to Paul and all the acts for performing for us, all the people at the Hospice, the Council and leisure centre staff that helped to make the night such a success. Not only have we raised a significant amount of money for the hospice which will really help them, but also created more awareness of the Woking hospice and the great work that they do!”
Gloria says that as local company we know how important our support for local charities can be, so we as a company take great pride in our annual challenges and events that raise money for local causes:
“I’m thrilled that the ‘Wake up Woking’ concert was so popular and such a huge success – the Woking hospice, and all these local charities do such amazing work its great that we’re able to help them with big events like this and our Forum that people get behind and support,”
Well done Sam, we were happy to be able to support you.
Another event in the Consult Hyperion annual charity sponsorship calendar is their Digital Money Forum, where any surplus from this annual high-profile event held every Spring goes to support the good work done by BUFFER (which provides specialist diagnostic equipment for breast cancer), The Prostate Cancer Charity and Jubilee Action (a Guildford based international human rights charity). The Digital Money Forum is a not-for-profit event, that brings together some of the leading thinkers in the world around payments and Digital money.
“Your generous donation is very much appreciated and will help us continue our work to provide vital services including; our nurse-led confidential helpline; information materials for Healthcare Professionals and men affected by the disease; and funding for research into treatments for prostate cancer, which isthe most common cancer in men in the UK" says Ania Klis, Corporate Partnership Assistant, The Prostate Cancer Charity.
Consult Hyperion and employees have been supporting charities, such as BUFFER on a regular basis, with Gloria cycling through Vietnam and Kenya. Action Medical Research will also benefit from the Company’s passion for challenges, with Gloria cycling to Paris, again this July following her efforts last year. Other members of the Consult Hyperion team are also helping Action Medical research by taking part again this year in the ‘Race the Sun’ exciting triathlon-style challenge, held in the Lake District – with a second team from the Company taking up the challenge this year to provide some healthy competition in the office. In this teams of four are required to complete cycle, climb and canoe legs starting at sunrise and finishing by sunset – racing the sun!
“Many thanks to Consult Hyperion and everybody that took part in the Digital Money Forum and raised much needed funds for our cause,” says Professor Graham Layer, BUFFER. “Consult Hyperion’s ongoing tremendous support is hugely appreciated and this extra terrific donation will go a long way.”
And thanks to all of you who have supported these very worthwhile causes by attending the Digital Money Forum. See you again on 2nd/3rd March 2011.
