Bruce Schneier, BT Counterpane
[Dave Birch] This week's podcast turned out to be rather timely. I happened to have a chat with noted security guru Bruce Schneier about e-passports a couple of days before the UK e-passports made the news. The topic of e-passports merits serious discussion and Bruce's perspective is very valuable.

To be honest, Bruce's magnum opus "Applied Cryptography: Protocols, Algorithms and Source Code in C" might be a little hard to follow on the Tube, but I'll send a copy of Bruce's excellent (and much more accessible) book "Secrets and Lies: Digital Security in a Networked World" to the first person to comment on this thread.

Well, that's worth a comment in anyone's book. I do hope that one side-effect of Counterpane's new parent is that we'll see more of him in the UK. There are many people here who will benefit from close encounters with his good sense.

We have a winner! Let me know where you want the book sent to and it's on the way.

Definitely a book worth reading. Twice.
Thanks for the podcast.
