[Dave Birch] John has been an instrumental figure in much of the phenomenal growth of card payments across Europe in the past twenty. Following a number of major roles for Honeywell Information Systems, he had a highly successful 17 year career at Visa. His roles included Head of Strategy, Vice President Market Development, Senior Vice President Commercial Payments and latterly he was in charge of Visa’s processing business in Europe. He was Executive Vice President and a member of the Executive Management Committee of Visa Europe for 7 years. John has worked with a number of major companies on their European payments business and he is currently serving as European Payments Adviser to First Data International where he is heavily involved in SEPA strategy. John is Chairman of the Glasshouse Partnership, one of the fastest growing UK marketing communications companies with expertise in sports, and financial services technology. He is also Visiting Lecturer at Westminster University, London where he is involved in the MBA programme. In this podcast, he talks about a recent survey he conducted on the topic of innovation in payments.
